We do not know if family are alive or dead - FM

The first minister says he has not heard from his family in Gaza for 32 hours.

Humza Yousaf said his parents-in-law had not been in touch since Friday morning.

Speaking to BBC Scotland he said: "We do not know if they are alive or dead."

It is thought that all internet and phone communications have been lost in Gaza, following intense Israeli bombardment on Friday night.

Israel has confirmed its forces are expanding their ground operations.
