Eric Joyce MP admits his political career is over 'without question'
Falkirk MP Eric Joyce has admitted that his political career will be over by the time of the next election.
The politician and former soldier was given a 12-month community order and fined £3,000 after he admitted committing an assault in a House of Commons bar last year.
He was thrown out of the Labour Party and now continues as an independent MP.
When asked by BBC Radio Scotland's Good Morning Scotland programme whether is political career would be over by the 2015 General Election, he said: "Yes, without question."
Asked if his application to rejoin the Labour Party would be embarrassing, he added: "I think some people in Scotland might think that.
"I think other people might think a couple of years of not being in the party - it is a fairly big penalty - and it really would be up to the Labour Party itself to make that judgement."
