Why future Henry VII hid in a Tenby cellar in 1471
Royalty normally enjoys plush surroundings and the ultimate in luxury living.
But a new programme for S4C shows how the future King Henry VII was forced to hide in a dark and damp underground chamber in the Pembrokeshire town of Tenby during the Wars of the Roses, before making his escape to France in 1471.
He returned to Britain to defeat Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.
Gilbert John went into the cellars to find out more.
Darn Bach o Hanes (Small Piece of History) is on S4C on Monday 20 February at 21:00 GMT.
