Artist Sir Peter Blake headlines Laugharne Weekend

A three-day literary and cultural festival starts on Friday in the tiny Carmarthenshire town of Laugharne, best known for its connection with Dylan Thomas.

The Laugharne Weekend is now in its seventh year, but still enjoys a reputation as a small, intimate festival where performers, visitors, and locals rub shoulders in the pubs and streets.

Past performers have included Ray Davies of The Kinks and American singer-songwriter Patti Smith.

This year the line-up includes the artist Sir Peter Blake, best known for designing the sleeve for The Beatles' album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Others appearing include writer Caitlin Moran, punk poet John Cooper Clarke and singers Tracey Thorn, Beth Orton and Robyn Hitchcock.

Sarah Moore has been there during the final preparations.
