Disabled not supported by change, says Disability Wales
Changes to benefits for people with disabilities are aimed at cutting the welfare bill and not supporting disabled people to live independently, says Disability Wales.
The Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is being phased out from 8 April for those of working age and replaced by a new benefit called Personal Independence Payments (PIP).
The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) said the changes make an outdated benefit clearer.
Paul Swann, the independent living policy officer for Disability Wales, spoke to Vaughan Roderick on BBC Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement.
