University Hospital of Wales 'has to get better', surgeons warn

Some departments at Wales' biggest hospital are dangerous with patients dying while waiting for heart operations, it is claimed.

Surgeons at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff also say children are suffering because of delays to surgery.

The claims are in a report seen by BBC Wales, following a visit by the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) which is demanding urgent action from the health board.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CVUHB) says it fully understands the gravity of the situation.
