Welsh Tories' grammar school idea to 'empower' pupils

The Welsh Conservative leader says his party's proposals to revive parts of the old grammar school system would help to empower pupils.

Andrew RT Davies said the current education system is failing pupils in Wales.

The Welsh Tories say if they came to power, pupils would be separated by ability at 14 into two streams - academic and vocational.

The party believes it would raise standards and help social mobility.
