Food hygiene ratings demand fears

Hygiene inspectors will be overwhelmed with inspections of cafes and restaurants when new "scores on the doors" are introduced, a has union warned.

Any business which makes improvements after getting a low hygiene score will be entitled to a re-inspection within three months.

But there are fears inspectors will be overwhelmed by demand and businesses could lose trade while waiting for further inspections.
