Nigel Evans urges review of historical sex assault cases

The power of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) to pursue historical allegations of sexual assault should be investigated, says MP Nigel Evans.

Mr Evans was cleared of rape and sexual assault charges last week.

The Swansea-born MP says he is £130,000 out of pocket following the case although it has been revealed he would have received legal aid had he applied for it.

The CPS has insisted the decision to take Mr Evans to court was correct.

Political correspondent Aled ap Dafydd reports.
