1958 baton bearer Roy Stephens returns to role

More than half a century after he carried the Queen's baton in the Cardiff Empire Games, Roy Stephens will return to the role when it visits St Davids in Pembrokeshire on Wednesday.

Mr Stephens, 74, from Broad Haven has been involved in rugby, running and boxing throughout his life.

He recalls his memories of carrying the baton ahead of the 1958 Games when he was 19 years old.
