Rhodri Talfan Davies: More Wales drama and comedy needed

BBC Wales director Rhodri Talfan Davies has admitted that there are aspects of Welsh life that need to be reflected in a better way by the BBC.

However, Mr Davies said there are constraints because the licence fee has been frozen until 2017.

In April, BBC Director General Lord Hall said that some aspects of Welsh national life were not being sufficiently covered because of the decline in English-language programming about Wales on TV.

Mr Talfan Davies said he will campaign for a better settlement for BBC Wales in the next round of charter negotiations.
