'Dalek' cleaner cutting hospital infection in Bangor

Hospitals in north Wales are making progress in reducing infections but more work is needed, according to a follow-up report.

Betsi Cadwaladr health officials apologised a year ago for their failure to control Clostridium difficile (C. diff) at Glan Clwyd hospital in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire.

Hospital managers say the number of infections has halved but admit it is still too high.

BBC Wales was given access behind the scenes at Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital in Bangor to see the cleaning techniques used, including hydrogen peroxide vaporiser machines nicknamed Daleks by staff.
