Gates theft part of rural crime rise

Rural crime in the UK has risen by more than 5% over a year, according to latest figures from a farm insurance company.

NFU Mutual said the cost to the rural economy had gone up to £44.5m in 2013.

Gareth Jones from Aberaeron, Ceredigion, is one of the farmers affected by rural crime.

He told Radio Wales' Gilbert John he lost £1,000-worth of gates after thieves stole them from the back of a trailer.
