Scottish anti-Tory Yes vote 'fool's gold', Owen Smith says

Shadow Welsh Secretary Owen Smith says it is "fool's gold" for "Yes" voters in the Scottish independence referendum who are anti-Tory to think they would ensure socially progressive governments for their country.

The Labour Pontypridd MP spoke out as the leaders of the main UK parties campaigned north of the border to plea for a vote against Scottish independence.

Mr Smith said the Conservative Party's engagement in the "No" campaign was a "risk" but Scotland would be less able to introduce socially just policies if it was not part of the UK.
