Cardiff graduate 'bright young things' for finance

Financial services companies could be attracted to Wales if an innovative graduate scheme proves a success, according to industry experts.

There have been concerns shortages of skills and office space could undermine efforts to bring jobs in the sector from London.

The Welsh Financial Services graduate scheme involves five firms and offers a two year paid placements for students to gain hands-on experience.

A conference will be held in Cardiff to showcase the masters degree.

Human resources manager at Cardiff-based insurance firm Atradius Anne Middleton has said it could help boost the financial services sector over the next few years.
