Head teachers 'considering early GCSE start'
A head teacher has said many schools are considering starting GCSEs a year earlier because of the extra demands of having two exams in a number of subjects.
Radyr Comprehensive School head Andrew Williams was speaking after the head of exam body WJEC suggested pupils should start studying GCSE maths a year earlier when a second exam is introduced from September 2015.
Gareth Pierce said children would need the extra preparation time for two maths exams.
However, the Welsh government said more teaching time would not be needed.
