Tidal lagoon in Budget 2015 'a great step forward'

The company behind Swansea's planned tidal lagoon has welcomed the scheme's inclusion in the Budget 2015.

Ioan Jenkins, development director for Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay described the announcement as "a great step forward."

Chancellor George Osborne has said negotiations are opening on the £1bn scheme in Swansea in his Budget speech in the House of Commons.

The plan would see a giant manmade lagoon generating power to run 120,000 homes for 120 years.
