Welfare cuts bill 'despicable' says Welsh MP

Almost 50 Labour MPs, including seven from Wales, defied orders from acting leader Harriet Harman and voted against a UK government welfare bill on Monday.

Former Welsh Secretary Peter Hain described the revolt on welfare and concerns about the party leadership contest as a "passing phase".

Cardiff Central MP Jo Stevens was one of the rebels and said the welfare cuts formed part of a "despicable bill".

BBC Wales political editor Nick Servini reports.
