Nearly half of people in Wales 'not visited coast in 12 months'

Nearly half of people in Wales have not visited the coast in the last 12 months, according to a National Trust report.

Figures from the conservation organisation revealed that 54% of Welsh people have been on a day trip or a holiday to the UK coast in the last 12 months.

It is slightly higher than the UK average of 42%, which is down 20% over the last decade.

A number of factors are said to be deterring coastal visitors, including cost, transport links and the weather.

Matt Murray reports.
