Welsh MPs clash with David Cameron over Syria air strikes

Welsh MPs have clashed with the prime minister over whether Britain should join air strikes against the so-called Islamic State group in Syria.

Plaid Cymru's parliamentary leader, Hywel Williams, told David Cameron he should "examine his conscience" before committing Britain to military action.

Newport West MP Paul Flynn warned it would be "likely to increase recruits to terrorism" in the UK.

Mr Cameron spent nearly three hours trying to convince MPs action against IS in Syria would make Britain "safer".
