Cameron makes case for air strikes on Islamic State in Syria

David Cameron has set out his case for Britain to launch air strikes against so-called Islamic State militants in Syria.

The prime minister argued that it would be wrong for the UK to sub-contract its security to other countries, and to expect the air forces of other nations to shoulder the burden of fighting the group.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has written to his MPs to say he cannot support the prime minister's proposals.
