Resident marooned in home after River Teifi bursts banks

A woman has described how she was left marooned in her own home after the River Teifi burst its banks following heavy rain.

Maria Eales from Llechryd, Ceredigion, only moved to the area in July and said this was her family's "first experience of this kind of weather".

"We can't get through to Cardigan and the rain continues," she said.

"Fortunately all our Christmas food is in the freezer. We're pretty self sufficient so we'll be okay."

Ms Eales captured the flood water outside her home on video on Sunday.
