Lung cancer challenge for Welsh medics

More people in Wales are getting cancer - but survival rates for the disease are improving, according to the latest figures.

Public Health Wales said there had been a 14% rise in new cancer cases in the 10 years to 2014, which it said was mainly due to people living longer.

But it has also found a clear link between lung cancer and inequality in Wales, with survival rates among the lowest in Europe for the disease.

Dr Dyfed Wyn Huws from Public Health Wales said tackling lung cancer remains a challenge.
