Wales mental health strategy aims to improve support

A new strategy for improving mental health and well-being has been announced by the Welsh Government to coincide with World Mental Health Day.

Among its priorities are improving support for young people, developing a new plan for dementia, and improving action to address suicide and self-harm.

One in four people in Wales are said to experience a mental health problem.

Health secretary Vaughan Gething said continued investment is vital.
