'Realistic' funding challenge for NHS - Vaughan Gething

The Health Secretary Vaughan Gething said meeting the financial challenges facing NHS Wales was "realistic and achievable".

He was responding to a report by an independent think-tank which looks at the difficulties of meeting growing demand in the short and long term.

The Health Foundation warns of a £700m black hole in three years time unless the NHS looked at more efficiencies and pay restraint.

Mr Gething told BBC Wales health correspondent Owain Clarke the efficiencies were possible but there also needed to be long term reform to the way services are run.
