Pisa: Welsh education 'focused' - Leighton Andrews

Following a poor set of results in 2010, the then Education Minister Leighton Andrews introduced a series of measures designed to drive up standards in Welsh schools.

Literacy and numeracy frameworks were introduced as was school banding and national tests.

Speaking ahead of the latest set of results, Mr Andrews told BBC Wales education correspondent Colette Hume the radical set of improvements had since been brought in and we were starting to see improvement.
