Christian group's 'housing crisis in Wales' action call
The director of a Christian action group has said more needs to be done to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping in Wales.
Sharon Lee, director at Housing Justice Cymru, said with 80,000 people on waiting lists for social housing in Wales, the Church in Wales and others could play a greater role.
It estimates about 200 faith buildings are closing annually and it wants a joined up approach among church groups to selling the land at market value to benefit social housing.
It hosted a conference in Wrexham on Thursday with the support of the Bishop of St Asaph, Rt Rev Gregory Cameron.
"In all areas of Wales we are seeing an increase in homelessness and rough sleeping," she said.
