Police clampdown on anti-social behaviour in Pill, Newport

Newport council voted in favour of implementing a public space protection order in Pillgwenlly in July.

The order restricts the consumption of alcohol outside licensed areas, congregating in groups of three or more after being requested to disperse, and possessing or consuming intoxicating substances.

Some residents are in favour of the order but others believe it will not solve the root of problem.

The order is one of 388 public space protection orders aiming to tackle anti-social behaviour in Wales.
