Barry primary pupils give thumbs up to longer school days

Primary school pupils have welcomed the prospect of longer school days.

The idea is being trialled by 14 schools in Wales and will see an extra five hours a week added for groups of youngsters.

“I feel happy because I get to see my friends,'' said one.

Another said it was “pretty cool”.

Rhian Milton, head teacher of Barry’s Cadoxton Primary, said: “This is an opportunity to definitely think big.”
