'Terrible divisions' in Labour over Syria

Jeremy Corbyn may have to resign as Labour leader if he is seen as a liability to the party, a Welsh MP has said, amid a row over his opposition to air strikes against jihadists based in Syria.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's The World at One, Newport West MP Paul Flynn said he too was against any escalation of war in the Middle East.

He said there were "terrible divisions" in the party.

But Mr Flynn said it would be for Mr Corbyn to decide to quit as leader, not for MPs to throw him out.
