Carwyn Jones says Kirsty Williams will do a good job

Carwyn Jones has named Liberal Democrat AM Kirsty Williams in his cabinet, saying she will do a good job as a minister.

She will serve as education secretary in an otherwise all-Labour Welsh Government.

Ms Williams, the sole Lib Dem in the assembly, was the only opposition AM to back Mr Jones in last week's tied vote for first minister.

Reinstalled after a making a deal with Plaid Cymru to break the deadlock, Mr Jones said he had reached out to other parties.
