Welsh budget: Public services need stability, Drakeford says

The Welsh budget will give public services stability as they face tougher times ahead, the finance secretary has said.

Mark Drakeford will present Labour's spending plans for around £15bn to AMs in the Senedd on Tuesday.

Without a majority, the Welsh Government has struck a deal with Plaid Cymru to get the budget through.

It includes £119m of extra money for Plaid priorities in areas such as health, education, local government and the Welsh language.

As he prepared to unveil the full details of his budget, Mr Drakeford said he wanted to give public services a platform on which they can prepare for "harder times ahead".
