Autumn Statement: Hammond backs Swansea and north Wales

Wales will get an extra £400m to spend on capital projects over the next five years, Chancellor Philip Hammond has said in his first Autumn Statement.

The money comes through the Barnett formula as a result of increased spending on transport in England.

Mr Hammond also said he was recommitting the UK government's support for city and growth deals of investment to boost Swansea and north Wales.

A deal for Cardiff was signed in March.
