Plaid Cymru's Neil McEvoy 'here to do my job'

A Plaid Cymru AM suspended as a councillor for bullying behaviour should also be suspended as an AM, a senior party source has told BBC Wales.

Neil McEvoy has been suspended for a month after a tribunal ruled he broke Cardiff council's code of conduct.

A council officer said she felt "threatened" by a comment he made after an eviction hearing in 2015.

The source was speaking after another AM, Bethan Jenkins, asked whether Mr McEvoy should be allowed to address Plaid's conference on Saturday.

As he arrived at the conference venue in Newport, Mr McEvoy told BBC Wales his freedom of speech should be respected.
