Fifa approves tough new measures to crack down on racism

World football governing body Fifa has voted to introduce tough new measures to counter racism and discrimination.

The proposals include deducting qualification points from national teams or banning them from future World Cups if their supporters racially abuse players.

Fifa president Sepp Blatter believes the measures "send a strong signal to the racists that their time is up".
