Inside India's Mars mission HQ

India has successfully launched a spacecraft to Mars - with the aim of becoming the fourth space agency to reach the planet.

The Mars Orbiter Mission took off at 09:08 GMT from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on the country's east coast.

The BBC's Sanjoy Majumder watched the launch and said there was "a tremendous sense of excitement" as the mission began.
