Preparing to protect the withdrawal from Camp Bastion

Most of Britain's combat troops have already left Afghanistan, and almost all will have left by the end of the year.

But keeping those troops safe as they leave is now one of the most crucial part in a deployment that has lasted over a decade.

34 Squadron the RAF Regiment has been assigned the task of protecting Camp Bastion in its final stages.

For some of the soldiers, this will be their first tour to Afghanistan.

Before flying out, Gunners from 34 Squadron went through final training at Stanford Training Area in Norfolk, exercising in a mock Afghan village.

BBC News joined them as they dealt with simulated explosions and injuries.
