Ensuring Stalin's victims are not forgotten

More than 30,000 people were executed without trial in Moscow in the 1930s, during Joseph Stalin's mass, paranoid purge of those labelled "enemies of the people."

But Stalin's rule has never been unequivocally denounced in post-Soviet Russia where he is increasingly referred to as a war hero and "effective manager".

A group in Moscow wants its latest project to remind people of the dark side of Stalin's rule.
