Ukraine crisis: Tatars plan to boycott referendum
Ukraine's Crimea region is anxiously anticipating a referendum set by its pro-Russian government for 16 March.
The poll will have two questions: Whether Crimea should re-join Russia or whether it should have a greater autonomy from Kiev.
Crimea's indigenous Tatar community says it fears going back under Moscow's rule and will boycott the vote, which has already been described as illegal by Ukraine and the West.
As Rasim Bekirov explains, the Tatars will never forget the horrors of their forceful deportation by Stalin in the 1940s, and are worried that the Kremlin could do it again.
