Musicians bridge divide between north and south Sudan
In the week that people from southern Sudan voted on whether to split from the north, musicians from both halves of the country gathered at the BBC World Service, external studios in London.
Abuk Deng Deng, Elizabeth Makongo, Thomas Mawan Muortat and Osman al-Hadi Ahmad make up a quartet from South Sudan.
Guitarist Nadir Ramzy and Afifi Ahmad, who plays the violin, come from the north of the country.
The BBC's Fergus Nicoll asked the musicians whether their art could help bridge the divide between the north and the south.
