Gaddafi's forces continue Zawiya assault

Forces loyal to the Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, are continuing their offensive in the western city of Zawiya, 30 miles from the capital Tripoli.

Reports speak of tanks moving towards the main square which is held by rebel forces.

However, Libyan state television is reporting that Zawiya is effectively in the hands of government forces.

Earlier Colonel Gaddafi said his people would take up arms if a no-fly zone is imposed by Western nations.

Jon Leyne reports.
