Pressure is growing on Yemen's president to stand down

In Yemen pressure is growing on President Ali Abdullah Saleh to stand down.

Following weeks of deadly protests a number of army officers and ambassadors have announced support for the anti-government demonstrators.

A top tribal leader has also added his voice to the opposition's demands.

In a recent statement the defence minister said the army supported the president and will defend him against any coup.
