Libya: Misrata still a city under siege

Libyan rebels in Misrata say forces loyal to Colonel Gaddafi have carried out a heavy bombardment of the city centre and three residential areas.

There is no independent confirmation of what happened, but earlier reports spoke of rocket explosions and automatic gunfire, in spite of an announcement by the Libyan government that it had suspended military operations against rebels there.

Orla Guerin reports from the eastern city of Benghazi.
