UK student swaps Lancashire for Libyan rebel front line

A step-up in the NATO air campaign in Libya, in the last few days, has been accompanied by greater success for rebel forces.

After weeks of stalemate the rebels have been gaining ground, pushing forwards from their stronghold of Misrata along the road to Tripoli.

Their cause continues to attract recruits, some from as far away as Europe.
