Sudan to have 'brotherly' relationship

South Sudan will have a "brotherly relationship with the Republic of Sudan according to Rebecca Garang, the widow of rebel leader John Garang.

On 9 July, the Republic of South Sudan will become the world's newest nation state, formally seceding from Sudan.

President Omar al-Bashir's government in Khartoum has pledged his support to South Sudan and respect its new found independence.

Rebecca Garang told the BBC's Will Ross that the foundation of the new nation "is a very great moment for us".
