Libya: UN's concern for civilians fleeing Gaddafi's home town of Sirte
The outgoing United Nations humanitarian co-ordinator for Libya, Panos Moumtzis, has said the UN is extremely concerned about the safety of civilians in Sirte, Colonel Gaddafi's home town.
Armed forces loyal to Libya's National Transitional Council have breached one of the fugitive leader's few remaining strongholds.
Hundreds of people have been fleeing Sirte, as revolutionary forces fired tank salvos into the city.
One woman, Samia Thalar, described how she was sheltering in a mosque in Sirte with displaced children.
