Marikana mine workers gather for memorial

In south Africa, hundreds of mine workers are gathering at the site of the shooting dead of 34 striking miners by police outside a platinum mine.

Prayers, rituals and a minute's silence will take place in a memorial ceremony to mark the anniversary of the massacre.

The BBC's Nomsa Maseko says workers want the day to be about peace and reconciliation, but they are still angry no one has been arrested over the shootings.
