Kenyan cleric Ibrahim 'Rogo' Omar shot dead in Mombasa

A Muslim cleric has been shot dead in the Kenyan port of Mombasa, amid high tensions between the Muslim community and the security forces.

Relatives and local people gathered at the scene where Ibrahim "Rogo" Omar and three other people were shot as they drove home on Thursday night after preaching.

It comes two weeks after the attack on a Kenyan shopping centre by militant group al-Shabab.

Speaking at the scene, fellow cleric Abubaker Shariff Ahmed accused the Kenyan security forces of killing Mr Omar - an allegation they strongly deny.
