CAR: France to boost deployment to try to restore order
French President Francois Hollande says his country will send 1,600 troops to the Central African Republic to try to restore order after hundreds of people were killed by Christian and Muslim militia groups.
His Defence Minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, told the BBC's Christian Fraser that plans advanced rapidly due to the escalation in violence. The African Union is almost doubling its peacekeeping force to 6,000.
