Parents of al-Jazeera journalist Peter Greste call for release
The parents of an Australian journalist being held in a Cairo prison, have urged the authorities to release their son and his two al-Jazeera colleagues.
Peter Greste, an ex-BBC correspondent, Canadian Mohammed Fahmy, Cairo bureau chief, and Egyptian producer Baher Mohamed are being detained on suspicion of using unlicensed equipment, broadcasting false news and possessing fake footage, prosecutors say.
Speaking at a news conference in Cairo, Mr Greste's mother described the allegations made against her son as "ludicrous".
